Ish trial: Jury listen to forensic pathologist interview
On Friday, the Ish trial was five days in. The jury watched a video recording of Dr. Charles Garrison that took place earlier in April.
Dr. Garrison is a forensic pathologist and in the video said he had conducted close to 7,000 autopsies throughout his career.
He said the Pocatello Police Department asked him back in 2012 to review the case. After reviewing photos from the scene, medical reports and hospital records, he concluded Red Elk died from blunt force trauma. However, he could not identify the type of item that may have been used.
Jennifer Teton took the stand and became emotional when asked why she decided to come forward and talk to police about the case.
She said she wanted Red Elk’s family to know what happened that night. Because she was called to the stand around 4:30 p.m., the judge decided to resume the questioning on Monday.
The trial will continue on Monday at 9 a.m.
