Another step foward in the modernization of two local high schools
Redesigns of the Skyline and Idaho Falls high schools were reviewed Saturday morning.
The Idaho Falls School District board of trustees talked about the pros and cons of the proposals for each school.
The point is to update and modernize both high schools. For example, the new upgrades will give the schools central collaboration spaces and allow technology to play more of a role within the buildings. The board has a good direction it wants to go in — but no decision is being made just yet.
“This is something we’ve been working on for 18 months, so we have been receiving input from parents and patrons throughout this process. The current direction is to redesign Skyline High School, rebuild Idaho Falls High School in a new location, and repurpose the current Idaho Falls building,” said district community relations specialist Margaret Wimborne.
The board is expecting to make its final decision to go through with the current plan at the end of this month. The members still need to discuss bond amounts and election dates.
