Energy Secretary Rick Perry visits with the INL employees, tours facility
Secretary Rick Perry toured the Idaho National Laboratory this week, saying it has a bright future.
The former Texas governor and presidential candidate spoke to the INL employees Tuesday. He expressed his gratitude for the work they do in keeping America safe.
For the past two days in Idaho Falls, Perry has spent time in briefings on the importance of nuclear energy and how it relates to national security, science, and the environment.
Perry said the future of the INL is cyber security.
“We are not where we need to be from a cyber security standpoint,” Perry said. “We are no longer No. 1 in supercomputing and that is a great concern. It should be a great concern to the people of this country. I have confident that the President of the United States shares that concern.”
Perry also toured several different facilities at the INL during his stop in Idaho Falls. He told employees it is a top-notch place with great leadership.
