Flood Warnings continue for portions of Idaho

Flood Warnings continue for portions of central and extreme Southeastern Idaho due to rapid snowmelt. The National Weather Service in Pocatello says, River levels are rising again in the central mountains due to warmer temperatures. Snowmelt flooding issues remain near Valley Creek in the Stanley basin, the Big Wood River near Hailey and Warm Springs, the Big Lost River from Howell Ranch to Mackay Reservoir and from Leslie to the Darlington Flats below the Mackay Reservoir. Along Antelope Creek from Grouse toward Darlington. Many back country roads may still be inundated with water or washed out and travel in those areas is not advised. Bear Lake County continues its Flood Warning. The Flood Warning continues for The Bear River at Border. * At 1:30 PM Thursday the stage was 7.2 feet…but expected to rise to near 7.5 feet on Tue 6/6. * Flood Stage is 7.5 feet. * Impact…At 7.5 feet…Water will begin to encroach on Pegram Road just north of Pegram. Lowland flooding of fields and pasture land will occur. Driveways to low lying homes next to the river near Dingle may have water across them. Some basements of low lying homes next to the river will start to have water come in them. Flood Warnings for Blaine County The Flood Warning continues for The Big Wood River at Hailey. * At 9:00 AM Thursday the stage was 7.3 feet. * Flood Stage is 6.0 feet. * Moderate Flooding is occurring and Moderate Flooding is forecast. * Forecast…The River will continue rising to near 7.9 feet by tomorrow morning. Another crest near 7.9 feet is expected late Tuesday. * Impact…At 7.9 feet…Potential for dangerous bank erosion and damage to levees likely to occur. Areas impacted include Bellevue near Broadford Road. In additon to Della View subdivision in Hailey, the Gimlet and Robin Hood subdivisions are impacted. Also, Wood River Drive in Ketchum is impacted.
