Pocatello police looking to catch children doing good

Pocatello Police Department officers are looking to catch local children red-handed doing good things for the community.

The department calls it the “Play Unplugged” program.

Officers will be handing out “Caught Ya” badges to kids doing positive, safe or helpful things in Pocatello.

“While officers are on patrol, they’ll be looking to ‘catch’ children bettering their community,” said Officer Akilah Lacey. “These things can range from riding a bike with a helmet to picking up trash in a park. All we’re looking for is something that shows you’re being a good neighbor and a positive influence for other kids in the community.”

The department said if officers miss a project, take a photo or video and the child to the Pocatello Police Department so officers can present the child with a badge.
