Idaho Falls man in jail for aggravated assault on deputies
Idaho Falls Police arrested a man for aggravated assault in the 3600 block of East Elswood.
According to the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a house in that area to assist Child Protective Services with the removal of a child because of poor living conditions.
The sheriff’s office said during that process Adrian J. Kovalsky, 32, became hostile toward deputies and started kicking items around the yard. Kovalsky eventually calmed down and went back to his room but later came back out with a handgun. He began loading the gun near a deputy. Deputies had the rest of the people living in the house leave and called for more assistance. After a brief confrontation with deputies, Kovalsky complied and put the weapon down.
He was arrested and taken into custody at the Bonneville County Jail. He was booked for one felony count of aggravated assault on a certain personnel.
Police said Kovalsky lived at the home but was not connected to the child who was being removed or the parents.
