Teton County negotiating armory purchase
Teton County, Idaho is finalizing a plan to purchase the state’s interest in the former Idaho National Guard Armory building at 547 N. Main Street in Driggs. The property is jointly owned by the state and county. The five-acre property includes an 8,963 square foot building, .3 acres of parking, and a tower currently being used by the county for its emergency services. The Military Division acquired the property in 1960. The county paid an initial investment to help build the original armory. The state has declared the property surplus to its needs. The property’s fee simple market value was appraised at $605,000 in September 2016. The half-interest being offered to the county for sale is valued at $302,000.
