Bannock and Bonneville planners review transportation projects

Two regional transportation planning groups are looking for public comment on short term plans for Fiscal Year 18. The Bonneville Metropolitan Planning Organization (BMPO) and the Bannock Transportation Planning Organization (BTPO) have released draft transportation improvement programs, listing federally funded surface transportation projects over the next 5 to 6 years. In Pocatello, the projects include signalization of the intersection of Hawthorne Road and Quinn Road and construction of a multi-use trail from Monte Vista to the Farm Bureau trail system. The BMPO reviews a number of projects in Idaho Falls, Ammon, Iona, Ucon, and the Targhee Regional Public Transportation Authority. One of the high priorities is the 1st Street and 45th East intersection that will soon serve the new Thunder Ridge High School and a planned middle school. Public comment will be accepted on the Bonneville Metropolitan Planning Organization update until August 1st. You can link to the plan here. Public comment on the Bannock Transportation Planning Organization document will be accepted through August 5th. You can link to the plan here.
