Moreno Brothers Hire Private Attorney
The two brothers accused of murdering a man outside of a popular Pocatello bar in June were expected to appear in court Monday for their preliminary hearing, but that did not happen.
The Bannock County Prosecutor’s office said Gabriel and Anthony Moreno hired a private attorney on Friday to represent them, pushing the preliminary hearing date back another two weeks until the new counsel could catch-up on the details of the case.
The case is currently sealed, so no court records have been made public yet.
However, Judge Thomas Clark’s office said the men hired representation through the Blaser, Oleson, and Lloyd lawfirm out of Blackfoot.
Attorneys from that firm were not available to comment yet.
The prosecutor’s office said they are already preparing themselves for this case, assembling the same team that represented the state during the Martin Edmo Ish trial in April.
The two men are being held on $1 million each, and neither one has posted bail.
Both Moreno brothers have been accused of beating to death Nathan Tad Richardson in an alleyway outside of the Center St. Clubhouse at 2:30 a.m. on June 23.
