Kyni, Inc. and Idahoan recognized for charitable contributions

Companies Kyäni, Inc. and Idahoan were recognized by the city of Idaho Falls for their partnership and charitable work on Wednesday.

The ceremony applauded the companies for coming together and creating the Potato Pak. They formulated a potato-based product that can be delivered as meals to impoverished children throughout the world. Idaho Falls Mayor Rebecca Casper presented a proclamation making July 12 a day of celebration of the philanthropy produced by Kyäni and Idahoan’s partnership.

“We were honored, I guess, because we love to just go and do good behind the scenes. Often we think of Idaho as this small little area, but we are impacting the world and we are sending out millions and millions of meals to malnourished areas all based on companies here in Idaho and the famous Idaho potato,” Kirk Hansen, Kyäni founder and chairman, said.

In 2016, the companies provided more than 1.1 million servings of Potato Pak throughout the world.
