Local businesses making moves

A couple of businesses are making some big moves in the Idaho Falls and Ammon areas.

New businesses are popping up. The second Culver’s in the Gem State is in Idaho Falls and opened last Friday.

“We cook it when you order it. We have fresh burgers, we have fish, we have chicken, our fish is battered when you order it. We have our frozen custard which is our premium ice cream that we make fresh all day long. We’re just really glad to be here in Idaho Falls. It’s been a long time getting here, but we’re happy to be here,” Eugene Smith, the store owner, said.

Businesses are also changing locations. Cal Ranch moved to Hitt Rd. by Walmart in Ammon on Monday. This move is said to help fulfill its mission statement.

“We think this new store location will provide that opportunity. Better selection, easier shop ability for the customers. We think this location is also more relevant for the customer shopping experience here in south eastern Idaho. It’s been almost 60 years. We love this area. We’re here to stay. We want to be a part of the community for another 60 plus years,” Ton Yearsley, the CFO & COO of Cal Ranch, said

And Orange Leaf is moving from its location of six years. After Wednesday, the frozen yogurt place will close its place near Edwards Theater, and move down to the corner of Hitt Rd. and Sunnyside Rd.

“The bank [Citizens Community Bank] needs more space for their expansion. So they have asked us to move and we are moving to a new location and we’re excited. It’s a bigger location so it will be big and bright, even better than this. We will have some possibility of outdoor seating so it will be able to accommodate our big crowds that we get,” Deanna Bishop, Ornage Leaf’s owner, said.

After Wednesday, Orange Leaf will close for a couple of weeks as the new location finishes construction. Bishop said she hopes the new building will be open by the end of August at the latest.
