Contractor to repair U.S. 26 seal-coat
HK Contractors, Inc. of Idaho Falls has begun re-seal-coating U.S. 26 between Idaho Falls and Ririe.
The Idaho Transportation Department lowered speed limits on the highway to 45 miles per hour between Highway 43 and Ririe last November because loose gravel had begun to take a toll on windshields.
ITD said it has now completed negotiations with HK Contractors to make the repairs necessary for the defective seal coat constructed last year.
The contractor will also repair various other stretches of pavement between Ririe and Swan Valley.
ITD said HK would work through this weekend and next week to complete the repairs.
