Homicide suspect may be in western Wyoming
Law enforcement officials say they have located the vehicle wanted in connection with the deaths of three women near a rural southwestern Idaho farmhouse.
Canyon County Chief Deputy Marv Dashiell announced Monday authorities found the white 2007 Ford Focus in a remote campground north of Moran, Wyoming, near the border of the Grand Teton National Park in the Bridger-Teton National Forest.
It is believed the vehicle may have been in the area since mid-June.
Currently, a nationwide manhunt is under way for 60-year-old Gerald “Mike” Bullinger. He is charged with failing to report the deaths, and police say he is a “person of interest” in the homicide investigation.
Bullinger is believed to be armed and possibly dangerous.
A number of law enforcement agencies including the Teton County Sheriff’s Office, National Park Service, U.S. Forest Service, Wyoming Game and Fish Department, Teton County, Wyoming Emergency Management and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are patrolling the area in search of the suspect. They are using cadaver and live-search dogs.
Local people are reminded to be aware and alert and to be deliberate with their security and protection activities.
They encourage everyone in the region, “if you see something, say something.”
Anyone with information that may be related to the investigation should contact the Teton County Sheriff’s Office at 307-733-2331 or dial 9-1-1 immediately.
The Bridger-Teton National Forest has issued a temporary area closure to facilitate law enforcement operations and for public safety. Effective immediately, Pacific Creek campground is closed. The Lava Creek, Box Creek and Clear Creek Trails, as well as all the area around Enos Lake in the Teton Wilderness Area are closed for the duration of this search. The road closure on the Pacific Creek Road begins at the forest boundary.
