Police: Man shoots, injures 18-year-old before killing self
Police in Spanish Fork say a 19-year-old man shot and injured another teenager overnight at a high school parking lot and later shot and killed himself.
Spanish Fork Police Lt. Matt Johnson says an 18-year-old man told police he met the 19-year-old at the parking lot of Spanish Fork High School around 2 a.m. for a fight. Johnson says a group of adults and juveniles were there and when the 19-year-old arrived, he pulled out a gun and shot the 18-year-old in the arm before fleeing.
The Daily Herald in Provo reports The Payson Police Department stopped the 19-year-old’s car around 4 a.m. and the man fatally shot himself while inside his car.
Johnson says the 18-year-old was treated at a hospital and is cooperating with police investigators.
