Thieves steal $30,000 in merchandise from Rexburg storage locker
Rexburg Police are investigating a break-in at American Self Storage on the city’s southeast side. Police said three owners of two gated and password protected storage units reported about $30,000 in merchandise had been taken between July 15th and 22nd. According to reports, one of the owners discovered a lock cut off one of the units on July 15th, but didn’t see anything missing. His partner did notice a snowboard was missing, but neither reported the theft to police. On July 22, one of the men noticed three locks had been cut off. He said $20,000 worth of mechanics’ tools, computers, and other merchandise had been taken. Police say investigation is continuing.
