CEI trustees approve Bingham County petition

The College of Eastern Idaho board of trustees has unanimously endorsed an effort by the Bingham County Republican Central Committee to include the county in the community college district. Party Chairman Dan Craven said he was “very pleased” with the board’s action Wednesday. The proposal now goes to the Idaho State Board of Education, which must also approve the petition before it can go to Bingham County voters in November. Craven said he hopes the State Board will take up the proposal during its meetings in Pocatello August 9.
