Weather update for August 12th

Scattered thunderstorms are possible Saturday and Sunday. A cold front will move across the Central Mountains Sunday afternoon. This will bring showers and thunderstorms. Lingering showers are possible through Tuesday. Expect warmer and drier weather conditions for the second half of the work week.

Air quality is down graded for Custer and Blaine County due to smoke from area wildfires. It is possible that wind from the cold front could help push the smoke East or Southeast.

There are several fire concerns over the weekend, since lightening is possible over the Central Mountains and Upper Snake Highlands. However, no Red Flag Warning has been issued for Saturday.

Sunday: Mostly sunny with a chance of thunderstorms. Highs in the upper 70’s and mid 80’s.

Monday: Partly sunny, with a chance of thunderstorms. Highs in the 70’s.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, lingering thunderstorms possible. Highs in the 70’s.
