UPDATE: Police respond to report of gun shot at Common Cents in Pocatello

UPDATE 08/17/17 8:00 p.m.: Pocatello police said they have a man in custody.

No one was shot when the gun went off around 3:45 p.m. Customers heard the gunshot and went inside to have the clerk call police.

Pocatello police said they are still investigating exactly what happened, but believe the gunshot was a result of some sort of domestic disturbance.

The man’s name has not yet been released, but police said he is from outside of Bannock County. He is currently being held in the Bannock County Jail and is charged with resisting arrest and discharging a firearm within city limits.

ORIGINAL STORY: Pocatello Police responded to a report of a gun shot at the Common Cents gas station on South 5th in Pocatello Thursday afternoon.

Officers said once they arrived, they found a gun and pursued a guy down the road.

This is all we know at this time. We have a reporter at the scene trying to get more information.
