One man in custody after Pocatello shooting incident

Pocatello Police arrested Robert Neal Ballard, Jr., 37, at around 3:40 p.m.. Thursday for resisting and obstructing police at 3957 S. 5th Street. Police were called after reports that a man fired a gun outside of the Common Cents convenience store. A witness identified Ballard as the suspect when police arrived and Ballard ran away into the area around Constitution Park. Police gave chase and took Ballard into custody. According to reports, he continued to be uncooperative and resist police. No one was injured as a result of the gun discharge. Detectives are looking for information about an unknown adult female who may have been involved in the incident.
