Kids dig in at fair pie eating contest
One of the biggest events at the Eastern Idaho State Fair is the kid’s pie eating competition.
Twelve lucky boys and girls got their chance to be the pie eating champion.
They dug into their blueberry, cherry and apple pies hoping not to get any up their noses. Some were unsuccessful.
Each kid had their own technique, hoping it would help he or she win the contest.
The winner, Brandon Hilder, had a unique way.
“Doin it the chicken style,” Hilder said. “It’s where you just keep planting your face back in it. Get as much pie as you can. Shootin the cherries out of your nose. It’s how my chickens do it.”
The winner got a wristband for unlimited rides at the fair.
