16 years since Amber Hoopes disappeared
Yesterday, September 14, marks 16 years since Amber Hoopes disappeared.
Evidence shows Hoopes went to use the computer in her grandparents shop Classic Auto Collision in Idaho Falls on September 14, 2001, and may have run into a burglar and ex-employee, Keith Glenn Hescock.
A shop truck and Amber disappeared that night.
The truck was found, and according to police, Hescock had an alibi.
In 2002, Hescock committed suicide after a police chase.
Police report he had kidnapped a local teen the night before who managed to escape from his home. There is also evidence Hescock was around the Challis area when Stephanie Crane disappeared in 1993, police said.
In 2006, the state of Idaho enacted “Idaho Missing Person’s Day” in honor of Amber Hoopes and all missing people in Idaho.
Crime Stoppers reports this is still an active case, and they are always seeking leads and information.
