Woman charged for using child to help alleged burglary

Pocatello Police arrested Lakiesha Dawn Flores, 27, Thursday for allegedly using her child to help her steal merchandise.

Police were called to Costco at around 5:23 p.m. after store employees said Flores left her child in the store. They told police they tried to stop Flores from leaving the store with electronics equipment without paying for them. Flores left the store without the child but returned a few minutes later.

Police learned Flores told her child to tell store employees that the child was lost as a diversionary tactic so Flores could leave the store without paying.

Flores was arrested and charged with burglary and injury to a child.

The police investigation of the incident is continuing.
