Portneuf Health Trust awards grant to Bannock County Search and Rescue
Portneuf Health Trust awarded Bannock County Search and Rescue (BCS&R) a grant over $15,000 for the purchase of a new Polaris Razor.
BCS&R is a volunteer team who provides vital emergency search and rescue services to those in need and supports local and regional professionals in emergency responses.
In 2016, BCS&R responded to over 140 calls, the majority of which were motor vehicle accidents that took place off-road or in the backcountry.
“This machine will provide better access and quicker transportation to hospitals for injured people,” President and CEO of Portneuf Health Trust Shaun Menchaca said. “With this service, it’s our belief that lives will be saved.”
BCS&R said this Razor has a track system which will allow crews to move effortlessly from dirt to mud to snow and ensure crews can cover any terrain, any time of year and have the ability to render aid needed in these types of emergencies.
“Gaining this new piece of equipment gives us the ability to continue our stride to better serve the community in a greater capacity,” said Bannock County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue division Commander Torey Danner. “Thank you.”
