Small earthquake hits near Park City but no damage

A small 3.3 magnitude earthquake that hit near Park City doesn’t appear to have caused any damage.

The University of Utah’ seismograph stations said in a news release Monday the epicenter of the 3.3 magnitude earthquake was about 7 miles northwest of Park City. It occurred at about 11:20 a.m.

City and county officials say some residents felt the tremor but haven’t reported any damage.

University of Utah officials say this is fourth earthquake of magnitude 3 or higher in the area since 1962. The largest was a 3.6 magnitude earthquake in 1999.
