‘Double Hat Bandit’ Arrested
The bank robber known as the ‘Double Hat Bandit’ was arrested in an Indiana motel parking lot over the weekend.
The FBI confirms Shayne Carson, 54, is suspected of robbing banks and credit unions in seven states, including: Idaho, Utah, Washington, Oregon, and Colorado – all of those targeted banks were inside grocery stores.
Carson is scheduled to be transferred back to Utah to face a bank robbery charge stemming from a criminal complaint filed the the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Salt Lake City.
Carson allegedly wore two hats – a beanie over a baseball cap, during 13 of his bank robberies.
