Deceased Rigby reserve officer to return home tomorrow
The Rigby Police Department reports officers will be escorting former reserve officer William “Bill” Gray back home Friday afternoon.
Gray passed away Monday night after 46 percent of his body was burned during a fiery crash near Logan, Utah back in July.
The Utah Highway Patrol will be escorting two Rigby units and Gray to the Utah/Idaho Border, and from there, Idaho State Police and other Idaho agencies will be escorting Gray home to Rigby.
Officials say the escort will be arriving in Rigby between 3 and 4 p.m. and will be going west down E Main St. where citizens have placed blue lines on business windows and blue balloons and ribbons on trees.
Officials say those who wish to view the escort are welcome to do so.
Bill’s wife April thanks everyone who has donated to help pay for the mounting, unexpected medical and travel expenses.
