Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25 considers name for stadium

The school board at the Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25 met Tuesday to discuss some of the proposed names for the new high school stadium in Pocatello.

Students from Pocatello, Century and Highland submitted names to the board for approval.
The board has narrowed it down to five.

Community Relation and Communications Specialist Shelley Allen says, “The second one was Iron Horse, and that was for the history for the railroad in our area. And the last name was P-H-C, which was Pocatello, Highland and Century and they were put in that order by initials for when the schools came online.”

The other three names: Gem Stadium, Cutter Stadium, and Gateway.

The idea was to make it a quality facility and open it up to the use of all schools.

The stadium is next to the golf course on fairway drive.

Next week the board will make a final decision on the name.
