Malfunctioning appliance causes evacuation at theBehavioral Health and Crisis Center

Idaho Falls Fire Department crews responded to a report of a structural fire at the Behavioral Health and Crisis Center around 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

Crews report they didn’t find a fire when they arrived, but the building was evacuated while firefighters inspected the interior and the roof.

According to IFFD, there was a smoke smell that appeared to be coming from a malfunctioning washer or dryer.
