Portneuf Medical Center opens doors to fire victims

Portneuf Regional Medical Center says it is housing 47 residents of the Safe Haven Center overnight.

Spokesman Todd Blackinton said the hospital used all available resources to treat potential patients. But, he says, there were no injuries reported by residents or staff of Safe Haven as a result of the fire.

The hospital provided food and blankets while fire victims awaited transportation to other facilities. Portneuef expected all of those affected to be in new locations by Saturday afternoon.
