Idaho couple to rent out 300 square foot home in Swan Valley
Three hundred square feet living conditions may not be as bad as you think.
Idaho couple Shane Fisher and Rachel Werner are joining the growing community of tiny home owners in hopes of renting to those passing through Swan Valley.
“You know you come to Swan Valley, you come to get square ice cream, you come to see the tree colors when the leaves are changing, but if you’re from Rexburg, Idaho Falls or Pocatello, and you don’t have a camper, you pretty much have to go home. There’s not anywhere to stay in Swan Valley,” said Fisher.
This tiny home took builder Phil Henry just sixty days to build. Instead of paying close to four hundred a night to stay in the surrounding area, you’re only paying one hundred.
Fisher offers a warning to those considering tiny house living.
“I’ve managed a lot of projects, and I’ve done real estate since I was in my twenties, it’s not much different than building a house. It’s the same headaches, same stumbling blocks. If they don’t have a definite background in construction, and stuff, I would find someone who does.”
The home is available through Airbnb and will also be featured on HGTV’s “Tiny House, Big Living” and the D.I.Y network on February 22 and 23 at 9:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. central.
