Progress being made on construction of Blackfoot Movie Mill
Progress is being made on the Blackfoot movie theater. Back in October, we told you about the announcement that the old “Blackfoot Motors” will become a movie theater, the Blackfoot Movie Mill.
They say construction is moving along. They anticipate five out of the seven theaters will open in early June.
And then the other two later in the month. The new theater will include the new laser technology for digital projectors and 7-point-1 Dolby surround-sound in all theaters.
They say with seven auditoriums of different sizes, they will be more accommodating.
“A lot of people have asked us why seven auditoriums and why not just open the old theater here in town. With only two auditoriums with the plaza twin, everybody was really trained to go to either Idaho Falls or Pocatello. But with seven auditoriums we’ll have the film that they want. The new movie and so forth and so we feel like it’s going to be a great fit,” says Kent Lott, theater owner.
The Lott family says they are excited for the Blackfoot theater. And they are really going to play into the name “Blackfoot Movie Mill” with their theme.
But in the mean time, at the Centre Twin Theater the Lott family has in Idaho Falls is now accepting movie pass.
With movie pass you either have a monthly or yearly subscription, and you can see a movie each day if you wanted. There are some restrictions though.
“You can only see one movie a day and it has to be a 2D standard film, you can’t go to an IMAX or 3D movie. We are accepting movie pass, we’re happy to accept them,” says Brandon Lott.
The monthly fee is about $10, but they do offer specials.
