Compher back in court
Murder suspect Brad Compher was in Bannock County District Court Monday as officials continued to assess his competency to stand trial.
Compher is accused of killing Nori Jones in Pocatello in 2004.
In February, the court ordered the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare to conduct an evaluation to determine if Compher is mentally dangerous. The ruling would decide whether Compher is sent to State Hospital South or a more secure facility for treatment. A second assessment was ordered after prosecutors voiced concern that one key component of the report was missing.
During Monday’s hearing, the judge had some questions about the procedures followed in the latest assessment but will reconsider those issues in another future hearing.
