Recreation Center expansion contract approved
The Town of Jackson and Teton County, Wyoming selected Aufderheide Construction Management of Jackson to design and construct an expansion and renovation of the community Recreation Center.
A formal contract, not to exceed $2,200,000, will be up for formal approval May 15.
Aufderheide was one of three proposals considered. Proposals were also submitted by Wapiti Construction and Big D Construction. A town and county committee was formed to evaluate, score, and recommend a contract award.
The project will be funded by Special Purpose Excise Tax sales tax funding. It will be completed in several phases including renovation and expansion of the administrative offices and vestibule. That will be followed by renovation of the front desk and lobby, locker room and family locker room. Work will also include renovation of exterior stucco, roof, and aquatic slide and stairs.
Officials say recreation center operations and facility access to the public will remain in place during construction. The contract includes incentives to complete the project within 473 days.
