Dutch Bros Coffee celebrates new Eastern Idaho location
If you’ve taken a trip down Woodruff Avenue on Wednesday, you’ve probably noticed the crazy packed lines full of cars and people in the WinCo parking lot. They are in line for the grand opening of Dutch Bros. Coffee.
“You guys can probably tell that we’re out here having fun, lots of smiles lots of laughs,” said Tonya Thomason, the store operator. “Just that intentional conversation with the customer, and making them feel welcome and accepted.”
Founded in 1992 in Oregon, the drive-thru coffee company celebrated their Eastern Idaho grand opening in Idaho Falls on Wednesday with a bang. From opening to closing, they will be giving out free 16-once drinks.
“Everyone is just all smiles going up to all the cars and seeing them being super excited about ordering their drinks and learning about all the new things they can order,” Thomason said.
With people and cars waiting in line for up to 30 minutes to get their drinks, that hasn’t slowed down the crowd.
“Oh I’m super excited,” said one customer. “It was one of those things where you look forward to it when you drove to Boise and now I practically get one every day now.”
“We came to get some free drinks,” said another Dutch fan. “Even though its a big line, it’s a good experience.”
To help with these crowds, Dutch Bros. had traffic control all over the parking lot, making sure people were served as fast as possible and that things ran smoothly. With 45 employees, the opening was nothing short of a party.
“They’re so nice, they asked us about our day,” said another customer. “[Employee’s were] very caring and trying to get us a good drink today.”
The “bro-ista’s” energy helped hype the customers for the day’s festivities.
“We are beyond excited,” Thomason said. “Everyone’s really excited that we are here.”
With locations located in Twin Falls and Boise, this is the first location in Eastern Idaho.
Dutch Bros. is open from 5 a.m. through 11 p.m.
Another shop is being constructed on 17th Street in Idaho Falls, in front of ShopKo.
