Lady Diggers take down Shelley before district tournament

The Shelley Lady Russets hosted the Sugar Salem Diggers in their last home game before districts.

Top of the first Mady Handy leads things off with a blast down the left field line, a question of fair or foul and it stays fair inside the line for a home run, Sugar takes an early 1 nothing lead.

Two batters later, Shayla Dopp drives one to deep left center field, it clears the fence, her first home run of the year, Diggers lead two nothing.

In the bottom of the 1st, Shelley down 3, Kaitlyn Ball lines one back up the middle into center, Johnson comes in to score from second, cutting the deficit to two.

Later, Handy’s pitch in the dirt, Shanae Mcbride comes in to score with the run, Russets down by one.

In the 7th inning, Sydney Bradshaw drives one down the left field line, for a two run blast, Diggers go on to win this one 9 to 5.
