Preston takes down Century for 5th seed

The Idaho Falls softball team clinched the number 1 seed in the conference.

On Thursday, Century high opened up district play against preston, both fighting for the 5th or 6th seed in the league.

Preston took the victory over Century on Wednesday afternoon.

In the bottom of the second, Century benefited from an errant pickoff throw to first, but the runner advances allowing the runner to advance to second base.

With Bassett at the plate, she connects for a ground ball up the middle, bringing home glaser to score, century is first on the board, scoring two runs in the bottom of the second inning.

To the top of the fourth, Preston’s Sparks batting, a wild pitch allows a run for the indians it’s 2-1 D-Backs.

Sparks still batting, she hits one right past the short stop bringing in one run, but a bobble at third brings the go ahead run in to score, Preston takes a 3-2 lead.

Later in the 4th, Tesha drops one into to left field, that will chase home sparks with the run, Preston takes the series 2 zip, and wins the game 12 to 4. Preston is now the 5th seed heading into districts while Century is 6th.
