Farmer’s markets bring business to local merchants
Spring is officially here now that farmer’s markets are back open. Many locals in Idaho Falls came out to enjoy treats, new products and the sunshine.
“I love the farmer’s markets because people can come and spend some time outdoors, people bring their animals, you know, and it’s just a good time,” said Dustin Dusenberry of Abeez Honey. “It’s a good environment. So I really like that. Plus all the people who spend time growing their vegetables and making their products, it’s really benefit for them as well the people who end up with them.”
Farmers markets are a way for local merchants to connect with and sell to their community. The local support keeps these small businesses going.
“I get to interact with the community and they get to try things, so it helps quite a bit,” said Geeneh Caragliu, owner of Wild Plants Love You.
“It means everything, you know,” Dusenberry said. “We spend all year raising the bees and we get one crop of honey a year and then we can sell that honey at the farmers markets so it really helps.”
Supporting each other in the community is what these farmers markets are all about.
“Because we want to get back to the roots of being able to support each other in a small local environment,” Caragliu said.
The Idaho Falls Farmer’s Market is every Saturday until October from 9 am to 1 pm.
