College of Eastern Idaho commencement slated

College of Eastern Idaho will award its first commencement ceremonies Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Idaho Falls Civic Center.

CEI’s first graduate is Kayla Flowers, who will receive a new Associate of Arts degree. She is a transfer student who transferred the majority of her prior coursework to CEI. She needed only two semesters to graduate.

The college is now a comprehensive community college, which is offering two-year transfer degrees.

Altogether, CEI will hand out 515 awards at this year’s commencement. In addition to Flowers’ degree, the college will award 221 Associate of Applied Science degrees or certificates and 293 General Education Development diplomas.
