Police discover mobile meth lab

The Bonneville County Sheriff’s office stopped a vehicle that was reported as suspicious on Iona Road near Hitt Road Monday around 10 a.m.

Deputies report the driver admitted he had a mobile meth lab which contains explosive material, and deputies identified at least one container with an active chemical inside.

Deputies arrested 33-year-old Joshua Delong from Idaho Falls. He was booked into the Bonneville County Jail for Felony Attempted Manufacture of a Controlled Substance.

Idaho State Police, Idaho Falls Fire Department and Regional Hazmat Team were on scene for several hours as officials isolated and handled the chemicals.

Officials said they do not believe anyone is in danger.

A portion of Iona Road from the roundabout toward Bonneville High School was blocked off.
