Ifft Foundation Fund in ICF selects spring grant recipients

Several local areas are getting funding help to complete some spring projects.

The Ifft Foundation Fund in the Idaho Community Foundation has selected nine grant requests.

The grants total nearly $70,000 for projects that will provide landscaping, beautification and public recreation in southeast Idaho.

The nine grants that were selected are:

American Falls School District #381 – $9,558 to help build an outside gathering area for the students at American Falls High School. This area will include picnic tables, basketball courts, a sand volleyball court, slack line and shade trees.

City of Aberdeen – $1,800 to purchase plants and flowers for the new downtown beautification project.

City of Aberdeen – $5,000 to purchase heavy duty metal benches for the downtown area.

City of American Falls – $10,000 to build an outdoor band shelter at the main American Falls city park, where all of the community events for Power County and the city of American Falls are held.

City of Blackfoot – $10,000 to purchase and install playful dog structures at the newly constructed dog park in Blackfoot.

NeighborWorks Pocatello – $3,530 to expand the Neighborhood Tool Lending Library Program.

Pocatello Garden Club – $9,500 to create a safe, easy to maintain, water-wise landscape around the Salvation Army facility.

Portneuf Valley Pride – $10,000 to landscape new berms that are being installed on the northwest side of U.S. Highway 30 between Philbin Road and Batiste Road. Funding will be used to connect to the City of Pocatello’s water system and to install a new drip irrigation system.

Zoo Idaho Zoological Society – $10,000 to improve Zoo Idaho’s petting zoo contact yard which is for children of all ages.
