Contractor named for Sho-Ban Casino expansion
A Salt Lake City firm has been selected to complete the second phase of the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes Casino Expansion Project in Fort Hall. The tribes ratified a new agreement with Big-D Construction Corporation Tuesday.
In a news release, Chairman Nathan Small said Big-D is already on the job site and working toward a completion date of early fall 2018.
“The Tribes are pleased to have Big-D Construction on board to complete the project,” said Small.
The project will add an 85,000 square foot casino. It will include a 240-player bingo hall, the “Painted Horse” buffet restaurant and a new lounge called “The Stampede”.
According to the 2010 census, the Fort Hall unemployment rate is around 47 percent. The casino is expected to add more job opportunities in the community and provide an economic benefit throughout southeast Idaho.
