Write-in wins Bannock County Clerk nomination

Two write-in candidates battled it out for the Republican nomination for Bannock County Clerk Tuesday.

Jason Dixon won the day with a 522 to 408 win over Max Shaffer.

The situation came about when popular County Clerk Rob Poleki decided at the last minute not to seek re-election.

Poleki’s decision came after the deadline to withdraw his name from candidacy, so it stayed on the ballot.
