Gros Ventre roundabout construction begins Tuesday
Grand Teton National Park will close the Gros Ventre Road for up to 5 nights from Tuesday, May 29 through Saturday, June 2. In addition, the road between Gros Ventre Junction and Gros Ventre Campground will be closed from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night.
The closure may be delayed if rainy or poor conditions prevent grading and paving activity.
The closures will not affect traffic on U.S. Highway 89/26/191.
The action was taken to facilitate construction of a temporary two-lane bypass with a separated pathway. A roundabout will be constructed at Gros Ventre Junction this summer and fall.
During the closure, traffic will be re-routed via the Antelope Flats Road. People traveling to Kelly, Gros Ventre Campground, or adjacent areas should travel between 5 a.m. and 6 p.m. or plan to use the detour.
