Hundreds of kids watch vintage war planes

The Legacy Flight Museum in Rexburg hosted kids from the “D.A.R.E.” program Friday afternoon.

About 500 students were able to watch vintage World War II warbirds do some flybys. Kids saw a North American T-6 plane, S NB-5 Beechcraft, and a Howard DGA.

Friday’s show was a practice run for the airshow Father’s Day weekend.

“We’re going to have an air show here that’s going to be fabulous,” said John Bagley, the owner of Legacy Flight Museum. “It’s free to the public. We’ve got lots of aerobatic pilots coming in and we got lots of warbirds coming in. It’s going to be really cool.”

That air show will be June 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Some of the planes in the air show will be the P-38 Lightning, Corsair F4U, and the Lockheed Lodestar Bomber.
