Getting your car travel ready
With Memorial Day coming up you may be getting ready to hit the road but is your car ready? Before you get on the road this weekend there are a few things you should have checked out.
“You want to make sure your tire pressure isn’t too high or too low. You want to make sure they’re properly inflated. Check your oil, make sure that your oil level is full. You want to also make sure that you’re antifreeze and your coolant levels are full. Running low on coolant can cause your vehicle to overheat and cause problems down the road,” says Kyle Duda, Area Manager at Grease Monkey, car repair shop.
An often overlooked part of your car: your cabin air filter.
“A lot of cars have cabin filters and a good time to get that replaced is the spring and summer months. Can keep a lot of the outside dust from coming in your vehicle. It’s an air filter for basically the inside of your car to make sure you’re breathing clean fresh air,” says Duda.
And if you think something may be wrong.
“Stop by any local service center and get it checked out. You never want to ignore the problem.”
