EIRMC hosts Family Fun Day
The rain didn’t stop Family Fun Day at the Snake River Landing today.
The event is hosted by Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. It started out as a NICU reunion several years ago and now it has expanded to include fun activities like mechanical bull riding, limbo, and jump roping. The highlight of the event is the teddy bear clinic. Kids get a free teddy bear, then take it through a hospital experience. The bears break a bone, go through the emergency room and get x-rays and surgery. The kids get a teddy bear while getting a little more comfortable with the emergency room process at the same time.
“This is a way for our clinicians to interact with the community,” said Jessica Clements with Eastern Idaho Medical Center. “To put their children at ease when they have to come to the hospital for medical care. And just a way to thank the community for supporting us as we support them.”
