Idaho Falls’ flags at half-staff to honor journalists
Idaho Falls is lowering its flags today in honor of the five people killed in an attack on the Capital Gazette in Annapolis, Maryland last week.
President Trump issued a proclamation lowering flags at federal facilities to half-staff.
Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley requested the federal action through the Maryland congressional delegation last week. The initial request was denied, but Buckley was notified by the White House Monday night that the president had decided to lower the flags in honor of the journalists after all. The White House said the initial request was denied because it did not come directly from the Mayor.
Idaho Falls’ flags will remain at half-staff until sunset Tuesday.
