2-year-old found unresponsive in Jefferson County Lake

Jefferson County deputies report a two-year-old is expected to make a full recovery after being found unresponsive in approximately two feet of water in Jefferson County Lake Friday around 3:30 p.m.

Officials say the toddler was unresponsive when she was removed from the water.

Family and bystanders started CPR immediately. The child began breathing and was administered first aid by Rigby QRU.

An ambulance transported the child to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center to be evaluated.

The sheriff’s office says she is expected to make a full recovery.

Officials say she was wearing a flotation device when she was located.

Sheriff Anderson reminds everyone to watch and be careful with your children around water and use floatation devices that fit properly.
