Child struck by pickup while crossing street
A two-year-old child was hit by a GMC pickup truck on the 200 block of I Street at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Idaho Falls Police report the child was crossing the street when the pickup struck the child.
The child did sustain injuries, but based on current information, police don’t believe the injuries are life-threatening.
As of 6:30 p.m., emergency medical personnel have not transported anyone to the hospital to receive further medical attention.
Idaho Falls Police are reconstructing the scene of the accident, which will take some time to complete, but there are no road closures in the area.
The case is under investigation and will be reviewed for possible charges to the driver of the pickup.
Police ask that the public avoid the area until they have finished the scene reconstruction.
