Idaho woman denies killing infant daughter
A south-central Idaho woman facing charges in the death of her 20-month-old daughter has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder.
Twenty-three-year-old Amanda Dunlap of Twin Falls on Monday in 5th District Court also pleaded not guilty to eight felony charges of injury to a child.
Lyryk Altom died at a Boise hospital in October. According to court documents, a doctor told police that the child’s head injuries were caused by non-accidental blunt force trauma.
The Times-News reports that 33-year-old Joshua Molina of Jerome is also charged with first-degree murder in connection to the child’s death.
Dunlap told police that Molina wouldn’t let her take the child to a doctor after the child had a seizure on Oct. 8. A plea hearing for Molina is set for July 30.
